The Isle of Man enjoys a unique location nestled in the Irish Sea between: England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. This setting makes it an ideal place to visit from all these areas, and with an island as stunning as the Isle of Man there is plenty of reason to make the effort to see its breathtaking beauty.

Despite its small size, just thirty-one miles by twelve miles across, there is plenty to see and do, especially if you have a great love of the outdoors life. The island’s heyday was back in Victorian times, which is still very evident and provides visitors’ with the opportunity to enjoy life at a slower pace and experience life’s simple pleasures. For example the rugged coastline makes for some spectacular walks, whilst the wildlife including the tail-less Manx cat is also of great interest, and the beaches are rarely crowded.

Douglas on the east coast of the island is the capital, and it’s from here that the ferries and Sea Cats arrive from England. Once on the island you can hire a car to get around and see all the sights, but many prefer to walk, cycle or take boat trips. Alternatively, the old Steam Railway is a fine way to travel, as is a trip on the old Manx Electric Railway.
